This volume, Wan Djieng opens her home kitchen and cooks for us! She grew up surrounded by people who loved food, and as a kid she always wanted to know how each dish was made, and that curiosity slowly pulled her into the world of cooking. One thing led to another, and today she keeps her own recipe book, filled with recipes collected from the '90s that she still cooks from.

Her mother and grandparents taught her that food is a way to share happiness. She also loves to open-open, a Javanese way of saying you take care of someone. This volume, we're bringing that feeling back to life: gathering around her humble kitchen and dining table to share her dishes.
